When a customer uses AI to research a purchase, the commercial question extends beyond whether the supplier’s website receives a visit.

Can the assistant understand the need, identify suitable offers and find reliable evidence for a recommendation? What context reaches the supplier when the customer makes an enquiry?

Follow one customer task

Choose a buying situation that matters to the business. Assess the information a customer would need to discover, compare and evaluate the offer.

Check whether that information is clear, consistent and supported. Separate what has been observed from what remains an assumption. Being mentioned in an answer does not establish that a transaction can be completed reliably.

Treat this as a commercial design question

Positioning, product information, pricing logic, customer evidence and the enquiry process all contribute to the experience. Ownership crosses marketing, sales, product, data and customer service.

The practical starting point is one important journey, the friction found within it and a bounded test of the changes most likely to improve customer access and commercial performance.
